About me and the counselling service

Hello, my name is Laura, I am a qualified counsellor based in Formby, Liverpool. I have a degree in counselling and have extensive training in domestic abuse and violence, adverse childhood experiences (ACE's) and trauma related issues as well as a deep understanding of many other mental health concerns.

I work as a person centred and humanistic counsellor. Person centred counselling is a talking therapy and I will listen to your concerns and worries, without judgement. I provide a safe and confidential space for you to explore your thoughts, feelings, and emotions.

My philosophy is rooted in the belief that mental and emotional well-being are integral to the overall health of individuals. I believe therapy can be a powerful tool for achieving balance and change. I will support you while you work through how you are feeling and I will encourage you to explore why you may be feeling this way and how you could overcome or use those feelings and emotions to improve your wellbeing.

I aim to help you gain a deeper understanding of yourself and develop strategies. Allowing you to take greater control of your wellbeing, through an open and non-judgmental dialogue. I believe a clearer understanding of oneself, along with embedding healthy boundaries and self-empowerment can help people feel more in control of their daily life.

We can work in person in my counselling room in Formby, Liverpool or remotely, via teams.
